Choreographer Dhanashree Verma and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal have officially ended their marriage, finalising their divorce at the Bandra Family Court on March 20. Nitin Gupta, Chahal’s lawyer, confirmed that the court granted the divorce based on a joint petition filed by the couple. Now, Dhanashree has made her first appearance after the proceedings and had a brief interaction with the paparazzi, where she reacted to the divorce with Chahal.
Dhanashree chose to avoid answering questions about the divorce. When asked about the separation, she subtly expressed her discomfort by making a small hand gesture and shaking her head in refusal. The paparazzi were heard asking, “Ma’am, kal ke baare mein aapko kuch bolna hai?” After refusing with an uncomfortable gesture, she added, “Gana suno pehle.” They also pointed out that both Dhanashree and the song were trending.
She looked stylish in an all-black cut-out ensemble. She kept her long hair open and paired the outfit with simple jewellery and minimal make-up. She appeared happy and promoted her song ‘Dekha Ji Dekha Maine’ while speaking to the paparazzi.
The song ‘Dekha Ji Dekha Maine’ has already sparked conversations among audiences, as it explores themes of domestic violence and infidelity. It was released on the same day that Dhanashree and Chahal’s divorce was finalised.
Dhanashree and Chahal tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in 2020. However, after reportedly living apart for two years, they filed for divorce in February 2025. As per a Bar and Bench report, the court has ordered Chahal to pay Rs 4.75 crore as alimony to Dhanashree.
