The OTT release of ‘Daaku Maharaaj,’ starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela, has become a hot topic of discussion due to swirling rumours about the actress’s scenes being removed from the film.
The movie is currently streaming on Netflix. The speculation related to Urvashi Rautela being edited out of the OTT release increased when a promotional poster for ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ notably excluded Urvashi Rautela, despite her playing a significant role as Sub-inspector Janaki. This led to speculation among fans and social media users, leading many to question whether her scenes had been cut from the film entirely.
However, as per a Hindustan Times report, it has since been clarified that these claims are unfounded. All scenes featuring Urvashi will remain intact in the OTT version, and there have been no edits made for the streaming release. The film being streamed on Netflix will be the same version that was shown in theatres.Later, in response to the initial backlash regarding Urvashi’s absence from the promotional material, Netflix shared additional content that included her image twice.
Urvashi Rautela has been in the news recently, particularly following comments she made regarding a luxury gift she received after ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ crossed Rs 100 crores at the box office. Many perceived her remarks as tone-deaf in light of recent events involving actor Saif Ali Khan.
Directed by Bobby Kolli, ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ features an ensemble cast that includes Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, and others alongside Balakrishna and Rautela. The film tells the story of a fearless bandit who confronts a powerful and corrupt family.
The film is currently streaming on OTT in multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
