Sushant Singh Rajput’s journey in Bollywood was filled with dreams, ambition, and remarkable achievements. One of his cherished dreams was to party with Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat—something he once promised himself while sitting at a coffee shop near SRK’s residence. Years later, that dream came true.
In a 2013 interview with Rediff, Sushant recalled an incident from his early days in Mumbai. As a fan of Shah Rukh Khan’s films, he often admired the superstar from afar. One evening, while having coffee near Mannat, he saw several luxury cars entering the bungalow for a party. Inspired by the grandeur, he told himself that one day, he too would step inside and celebrate with SRK. That moment came true when he was invited to an Eid party at Mannat, making him “really happy.” He said, “I have always been a big fan of his films, though I was never truly star-struck. I remember sitting with my friends at a coffee shop near Shah Rukh’s house in Bandra one evening when he was hosting a party. Watching luxury cars drive into his bungalow, I told myself that one day, I wanted to be inside, celebrating with him. Luckily, this year, I got invited to his Eid party, and that made me really happy.”
Sushant, who began his career with television before transitioning to Bollywood, always believed in exploring different mediums. He had expressed interest in television, theatre, and even starting his own theatre company, emphasizing that an actor should not be limited to one platform.
Tragically, Sushant passed away on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. His final film was Dil Bechara which received much love from the audiences.
