Stand-up comedian Vipul Goyal has taken a humorous approach to the ongoing controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent. In a widely shared social media video, Vipul, who appeared as a guest judge on an episode of the reality show, playfully ridiculed himself and the other judges who are currently under scrutiny by authorities.
“Abhi dekha aapne India’s Got Latent ki controversy, kya pela humko yaar. Aapko toh maza aa gaya hoga?” he quipped, hinting at how audiences might have enjoyed the spectacle of the backlash.
During his set, an audience member reminded him of a past comment he had made on the show, suggesting that the content might lead to trouble. Without missing a beat, Vipul responded, “Maine koi prediction nai kiya. Tu mujhe kaali zuban mat bula.”
Vipul also confirmed that he had appeared before authorities to record his statement but chose to keep the specifics under wraps.
Addressing the intense public reaction, he joked, “Log bol rahe hain inhe kam se kam fansi honi chaiyeh. Kam se kam? Zyada kya hoga isse? Mari hui body ke saath podcast karaenge ab yeh.” His remarks poked fun at the extreme demands for punishment that have surfaced online.
He further referenced YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, who claimed he had been receiving death threats. Vipul highlighted the absurdity of the situation, saying, “Beer Biceps bechara likh raha hai, use death threats aa rahe hain. Wahan log comment mein puch rahe hain, kabhi maut ke baare mein socha hai?”
The comedian didn’t hold back when taking a dig at Sunil Pal and Mukesh Khanna, both of whom have publicly condemned the show and its judges.
Vipul isn’t alone in his take on the situation. Fellow comedian Gaurav Kapoor also weighed in during a recent performance, criticizing how quickly Ranveer apologized. He also touched upon how comedians now face pressure to cancel shows over security concerns, but he himself seemed unconcerned. “Arre bhai kya bhasad hogai yaar. Itni badi bhasad toh hai bhi nahi yaar. Ho gaya yaar, nikal gaya mooh se yaar,” he remarked casually.
For those unfamiliar with the controversy, it stems from comments made by Allahbadia during an episode of India’s Got Latent, featuring comedian Samay Raina and other panelists. After facing massive backlash, Samay deleted all related content, while Ranveer revealed that he and his family had been receiving threats. Police complaints have since been filed against them in Maharashtra and Assam.
The issue has snowballed, with Ranveer and his co-panelists now facing legal proceedings in Mumbai and Guwahati. The matter even reached Parliament, with politicians urging stringent action against Ranveer to prevent similar incidents in the future.
