In a tragic turn of events, the ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ fame Kang Myung Joo, passed away on February 27.
The South Korean actress who was battling with cancer, breathed her last at the age of 54. According to the K-media reports, her funeral service will be held at Seoul St Mary’s Hospital. Further the same reports have confirmed that the burial is scheduled for March 2, 2025, at 7:40 am KST.
Kang Myung Joo is survived by husband and actor Park Yun Hee, and their two daughters.
The news of her demise shattered all. Remembering and grieving Kang, her daughter, actress Park Se Young, took to social media to share “My mom left us yesterday afternoon. We would appreciate it if you could remember the stage she loved and the moments she shone.”
Who was actress Kang Myung Joo?
Kang Myung Joo made her debut in 1992. In her decades-long career, she was seen working in various K dramas in guest or supporting roles. She started with the experimental theatre troupe ‘Kooni, Nara.’ She fell for the performing arts instantly and according to Allkpop, she worked on various plays such as Hamlet, Circle of Life, Humans or Gods, and Coriolanus.
She has recently showcased her talent in acting through her performances in BEA and 20th Century Blues.
According to her MyDramaList profile, the very talented theater actress played the role of a judge in the 2022 series ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.’ The series was a big hit among the audience and featured Park Eun Bin, Kang Tae Oh, and others as well.
She has also appeared in several other dramas, including ‘Sh**ting Stars’ (with Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Dae), ‘Dr. Romantic Season 3’ (starring Han Seok Kyu, Lee Sung Kyung, and Ahn Hyo Seop), ‘See You In My 19th Life’ (with Ahn Bo Hyun and Shin Hye Sun), and many more.
