Ranbir Kapoor pays heartfelt tribute to Deb Mukherjee, carries his mortal remains at funeral

On Friday morning, veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, the father of filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, passed away at the age of 83. As the news of his passing spread, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt immediately cut short their Alibaug vacation to be by Ayan’s side. In a sad display of respect and friendship, Ranbir took on the role of a pallbearer, carrying Deb Mukherjee‘s body during the funeral procession, offering a heartfelt tribute to the late actor.
In a moment captured by paparazzi, Ranbir is seen standing in support of Ayan and his family as they mourn the loss of Deb Mukherjee. The photo shows Ranbir among the family members, respectfully carrying Deb’s body on a stretcher draped in white. Dressed in a humble white shirt and blue jeans, Ranbir’s presence highlighted his close bond with Ayan during this difficult time.
Ranbir and his wife Alia returned to Mumbai after learning about the passing of Ayan Mukerji’s father. Ranbir has a close bond with Ayan, having worked together on several films like ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’. Recently, Ranbir mentioned that ‘Brahmastra: Part Two’ is underway, while Ayan is working on ‘War 2’.
Meanwhile, several Bollywood celebrities visited Mukerji’s residence to offer their condolences following the passing of his father, Deb Mukherjee. Notable visitors included Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, Jaya Bachchan, and other close friends from the industry, who gathered to pay their respects.
