‘Hum Tum‘ is remembered as one of Saif Ali Khan’s best films. The actor also got a National Award for the film. People loved Rani Mukerji and Saif’s chemistry in the film and it continues to be memorable till date. But did you know that Saif and Rani were both very uncomfortable doing the kissing scene in the movie. It was Rani who was uncomfortable which in turn made Saif feel the same.
The actors had spoken about it in a video which was released by YRF during the release of ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2‘ which starred both of them. In this video, Rani asked Saif if he remembers how scared they were while doing the kissing scene in Hum Tum. Saif responded, “I remember how scared you were to do the kissing shot.”
He further added, “You said, ‘Listen, you say that you don’t want to kiss me.’ So I said, ‘I can’t say that! My boss has told me, so I have to do it.’ You said, ‘Listen, I don’t think we should do it.’” Saif laughed and said, “It was the worst kiss in the history of cinema; it was so uncomfortable. It made me so uncomfortable because you were so uncomfortable.”
‘Hum Tum’ was directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Aditya Chopra. Eventually, Rani got married to Chopra and they now have a daughter Adira. ‘Hum Tum’ also starred Jimmy Shergill, Rishi Kapoor and Rati Agnihotri.
In a recent interview, director Kunal Kohli had revealed that Rishi had said no to ‘Hum Tum’ because he had only 7 scenes in the movie. However, he was later convinced by Kohli as he told him about the impact of all those scenes.
