Anurag Kashyap had announced a while ago that he’s now set to leave the Hindi film industry and move to the south. He had said, “I want to stay away from film people. The industry has become too toxic. Everyone is chasing unrealistic targets, trying to make the next ₹500 or ₹800 crore film. The creative atmosphere is gone.” He had further said that he’s disgusted with the industry during a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India. “I envy them (South filmmakers). Because now, it’s difficult for me to go out and experiment. Because now, it comes at a cost, which makes my producers think about profit,” he said.
Now after Kashyap has left Bollywood, Sunny Deol has also said that the Bollywood producers must learn from south producers. At the trailer launch event of his film ‘Jaat‘, Sunny first jokingly said, “Ye dhai kilo ke haath ki taakat poora North dekh chuka hai. Ab South dekhega. (Entire North has seen the strength of this hand. Now, South will see it.)”
He further added on a serious note, “I wish Bollywood producers learn something from South producers. Make it Hindi cinema first, and then learn how to make cinema.” He added that in the south, the script is the hero.
During the event, he also said, “Kya pata wahin ja ke bas jau main (It might happen that I go and settle there).”
At the trailer launch, Sunny also spoke about the kind of work him and Bobby Deol are getting now after ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Animal’. The actor said that they are not feeling any pressure due to it, infact, it’s high time that they get this kind of work.
