Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film, ‘Raid 2’, a sequel to the 2018 hit ‘Raid’. The first film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, was based on a real-life income tax raid in the 1980s and became a huge success. It also received critical praise, which encouraged the makers to turn it into a franchise. After years of research, the team finalised a new story and announced ‘Raid 2’ in 2024, with Ajay Devgn returning as the lead. The excitement around the film increased when Riteish Deshmukh was cast as the main villain.
‘Raid 2’ is set to hit cinemas on 1 May 2025. As per a Pinkvilla report, the teaser for Ajay Devgn’s ‘Raid 2’ will debut digitally late next week and then be showcased in cinemas alongside Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s Eid release, ‘Sikandar’. This strategic release aims to maximise audience engagement during the festive season.
According to the report, the film’s producers, Kumar Mangat, Bhushan Kumar, and Ajay Devgn, have made deals with multiplex chains to ensure that the ‘Raid 2’ teaser plays before ‘Sikandar’. They have also decided to provide the Key Delivery Message (KDM) to single-screen cinemas, giving them the choice to play the teaser as well. This strategy will help the teaser reach a wider audience.
Releasing the ‘Raid 2’ teaser alongside ‘Sikandar’ is a smart decision, as Salman Khan’s films usually draw huge crowds during Eid. ‘Sikandar’ is also a highly awaited film and is all set to hit the big screens on 30th March, 2025. Salman recently took to Instagram to share an eye-catching poster of the film, captioning it, “See you in theatres worldwide on 30th March! #Sikandar #SajidNadiadwala’s #Sikandar Directed by @a.r.murugadoss.”
