The composer expressed his emotional turmoil, stating that he has been struggling for years while feeling unappreciated despite his dedication to his craft. Now, his mother, Jyothi Malik, has reacted to the matter.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Amaal’s mother responded to the social media post, saying, “I don’t think you (the media) need to be involved in all this. Whatever he has posted is his choice. I am sorry. Thank you,” she reportedly stated.

On 20 March, Amaal revealed that his family, including his parents, Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik, had allegedly created barriers in his personal and professional life, affecting his relationship with his brother, Armaan Malik. His statement reflected years of frustration, culminating in his decision to step away from his family dynamics.
Amaal’s revelation has sparked discussions within the industry, as he spoke about feeling undervalued and emotionally exhausted despite his years of hard work. He detailed how he sacrificed his personal dreams for the well-being of others, only to be left questioning his own worth. “I’ve reached a point where I can no longer keep silent about the pain I’ve endured. I have spent my blood, sweat, and tears to create each of the 126 melodies that have been released over the last decade,” he wrote.
The young musician also opened up about his mental health struggles, revealing that he has been diagnosed with clinical depression. He admitted that his self-worth had been repeatedly diminished by those closest to him, leading to emotional distress. “I have been robbed of my peace, drained emotionally and maybe financially too, but that’s the least of my concerns. What really matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these happenings.”
