Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has confirmed that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 will take place in June. The five-day event is scheduled to commence on 9 June and conclude on 13 June.
Apple has announced that this year’s WWDC will be held in a virtual format, allowing developers worldwide to attend free of charge.
This event will focus on the latest innovations in Apple’s software ecosystem, providing developers with access to Apple experts, new tools, frameworks, and features, stated Apple.
In a newsroom post, Apple stated that WWDC 2025 will offer insights into its upcoming software advancements. Developers and students will be able to participate via the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. A special in-person experience will also be hosted at Apple Park on the opening day, where attendees can watch the keynote and Platforms State of the Union, as well as engage with Apple’s engineers in one-on-one and group lab sessions.
As WWDC 2025 approaches, speculation is ongoing about the forthcoming software announcements. Apple is expected to unveil next-generation updates, including iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3. Reports suggest that Apple is working on a significant redesign of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, marking the most substantial visual overhaul in over a decade. The redesign is expected to introduce refreshed icons, menus, and other system elements, drawing inspiration from visionOS.
The tech giant has also provided an update on the Swift Student Challenge, an initiative for coding and app development. Winners will be notified on 27 March, with 50 distinguished winners being invited to Cupertino for a three-day experience at Apple Park.
