'Chhaava' box office collection day 30: Vicky Kaushal’s film beats John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat’

Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ has entered into the fifth week, and though the last week collection indicated that the movie might lose its reign at the box office, the latest numbers speak otherwise.
After earning Rs. 7.25 Cr (Hindi: Rs 6.5 Cr; Telugu: Rs 0.75 Cr) on its fifth Friday, the movie has made Rs. 8 crore (Hindi: Rs 7.35 Cr; Telugu: Rs 0.65 Cr). With this the film’s total stands at Rs 554.75 Cr (Hindi: Rs. 541.45 Cr; Telugu: Rs 13.2 Cr).
The Laxman Utekar directorial seems to have benefited from the Holi weekend, and is expected to see more growth on Sunday.
India’s net box office collection of ‘Chhaava’
    Week 1 Collection: ₹ 219.25 Cr
    Week 2 Collection: ₹ 180.25 Cr
    Week 3 Collection: ₹ 84.05 Cr
    Week 4 Collection: ₹ 55.95 Cr
    Day 29 [5th Friday]: ₹ 7.25 Cr
    Day 30 [5th Saturday]: ₹ 8 Cr [Hindi: ₹ 7.35 Cr; Telugu: ₹ 0.65 Cr] (rough data)
    Total: ₹ 554.75 Cr (Hindi: ₹541.55 Cr; Telugu: ₹ 13.2 Cr)
Drawing inspiration from the novel of the same title, Chhaava highlights the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the offspring of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. As the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, Sambhaji upheld his father’s principles of Swaraj. Despite being ultimately captured by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, the intense suffering he faced did not diminish the indomitable spirit of the Maratha warrior.
ETimes review for the movie reads, “Chhaava’s redeeming factor is its terrific climax. Vicky Kaushal is breathtaking as he exudes Sambhaji Maharaj’s valour and passion for swarajya (self-rule) like it were his second skin. You just wish the film relied and trusted its story more than Rahman’s music, which largely feels out of place.”
