Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 36: Vicky Kaushal starrer emerges as highest-earning film on fifth Friday with Rs 2.10 crore collection

There is no stopping Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava at the box office. The film entered its fifth week with a collection of Rs 2.10 crore on its 36th day.
The film managed to outperform newer releases like The Diplomat and the Hollywood live-action Snow White. While the John Abraham starrer earned around Rs 1.25 crore, the Rachel Zegler-led fairytale brought in an estimated Rs 65 lakh.
Chhaava now boasts an impressive box office collection of Rs 575 crore, with numbers expected to rise over the upcoming weekend.
With this milestone, Chhaava has become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-earning film, surpassing his previous blockbusters, including Uri: The Surgical Strike. The film has managed to maintain its stronghold despite facing controversy. It was alleged that the recent violence in Nagpur was caused by the movie, leading to public backlash.
The film also continues to perform well despite being leaked online. According to the Mumbai Police, Rajat Rahul Haksar, CEO of August Entertainment—an anti-piracy agency appointed by Maddock Films—reported that “1,818 internet links” were used to circulate the period drama illegally.
As a result, a case has been registered at the South Cyber Police Station under CR No. 23/2025 for offenses under Sections 316(2) and 308(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 51, 63, and 65A of the Copyright Act, Section 6AA of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 (Amendment 2023), and Sections 43 and 66 of the Information Technology Act.
The Laxman Utekar directorial, based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, also stars Akshaye Khanna as Emperor Aurangzeb and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai.
