Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava has completed 40 days at the Indian box office, marking a significant milestone in its theatrical run. Despite an impressive performance since its release, the film is showing signs of slowing down as it nears the conclusion of its box office journey.
On its fortieth day, Chhaava earned approximately Rs 1.50 crore across all language versions. This marks a noticeable dip compared to the previous weekend. As the film entered its sixth weekend, it collected Rs 2.1 crore on Friday. However, the weekend provided a slight boost, with earnings rising to an estimated Rs 3.65 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.65 crore on Sunday.
The Laxman Utekar directorial has accumulated an impressive Rs 586.35 crore domestically. While the movie has already ranked among the highest-grossing films in its sixth week, its pace has slowed as it approaches the Rs 590 crore milestone.
With the much-anticipated release of Salman Khan’s Sikandar on the horizon, industry analysts are keen to see whether Chhaava can sustain its momentum and enter the exclusive Rs 600 crore net club during the upcoming Eid weekend.
Meanwhile, in a notable development, reports indicate that Chhaava is set to be screened in Parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Ministers and Members of Parliament, is expected to attend the screening. The film’s cast and crew, including lead actor Vicky Kaushal—who portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj—are also likely to be present at the event.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava chronicles the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and features an ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles.
With this latest box office achievement, Chhaava has become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing film to date, surpassing the record set by his 2019 blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike. As the film continues its theatrical run, all eyes are on whether it can cross the coveted Rs 600 crore mark in the coming weeks.
