Amid divorce rumours, choreographer and YouTuber Dhanashree Verma has showcased resilience and positivity. On Maha Shivratri, she took to Instagram to share images from a recent shoot, captioning them: “With Lord Shiva’s blessings, I’m unstoppable… I feel strong and fearless. Shoot diaries for you. The love and respect at work are unreal. Har Har Mahadev.”
Speculation about the couple’s marital status intensified after reports suggested that Dhanashree and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal had filed for divorce by mutual consent at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai. Chahal’s lawyer, Nitin K. Gupta, confirmed the development to Hindustan Times, stating, “Mr Chahal reached a settlement for obtaining divorce by mutual consent with Mrs Verma. A petition for divorce by mutual consent was presented before the Honourable Family Court, Bandra. The matter is currently sub judice.”
The rumours gained momentum when observant fans noticed that both Dhanashree and Yuzvendra had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Further fuelling the speculation, Dhanashree removed “Chahal” from her Instagram handle, and Yuzvendra posted a cryptic story that read, “New life loading.” Additionally, Chahal deleted all pictures featuring Dhanashree from his Instagram account.
Amid these developments, reports emerged alleging that Dhanashree had demanded Rs 60 crore in alimony. However, her family swiftly dismissed these claims as baseless. A relative expressed strong discontent over the rumours, clarifying, “We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered.”
Dhanashree and Chahal’s relationship began during the COVID-19 pandemic when Chahal reportedly approached her for dance lessons. Their professional collaboration soon blossomed into a romantic relationship, leading to their engagement in August 2020 and subsequent marriage in December.
