Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has sparked a fresh wave of speculation about Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s relationship status with a curious remark during the trailer launch of the upcoming film Sikandar.
At the event on Sunday, Salman addressed the ongoing debate surrounding the age gap between him and his leading ladies. However, in the midst of his response, he seemingly hinted at the actress’ personal life, suggesting that wedding bells may soon be ringing for Rashmika and her rumoured boyfriend, Vijay.
Adding fuel to the ongoing rumours about the young couple, Salman remarked, “Ab jab inki shaadi ho jaaegi, bache ho jaaenge, badi star ho jaaegi, voh sab bhi kaam karenge na. Mummy ki permission toh mil hi jaaegi, ha na?” (Translation: “When she gets married, has kids, and becomes a big star, they will also work, right? They will get their mother’s permission, right?”).He made the comment while stating, “They say there is a 31-year difference between the heroine and me. If the heroine doesn’t have any problem or the heroine’s father doesn’t have any problem, then why do you have a problem”
Nonetheless, the comment has intensified speculation about the long-rumoured romance between Rashmika and Vijay. The two actors, who have shared the screen in hit films, have long been linked together. Their recent photos from their globe-trotting adventures further sparked rumours about the romance and relationship plans.
Despite the buzz, no official confirmation about their rumoured hush-hush relationship has been made by either Rashmika or Vijay.
Meanwhile, Salman’s Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on March 30, coinciding with the Eid festive weekend. All eyes will be on the box office to see if this film has what it takes to make a splash and surpass the Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava, which is already on its way to the Rs 600 crore mark at the box office.
