Imran Khan reveals Karan Johar helped him 's*x-up' his image before 'I Hate Luv Storys' with Sonam Kapoor: 'We did a lot of topless shoots'

Imran Khan revealed that Karan Johar played a key role in ‘sexing up’ his image for I Hate Luv Storys (2010), where he portrayed a womaniser—a stark contrast to his previous roles.
In a chat with the Moments of Silence podcast, Imran Khan reflected on filming I Hate Luv Storys and how producer Karan Johar helped refine his character’s appeal. He shared that Karan focused on enhancing his image, leveraging his fitness efforts with strategic styling and multiple shirtless shoots.

In I Hate Luv Storys, Imran Khan played a womanizer in his first collaboration with director Punit Malhotra. Produced by Karan Johar, the 2010 film featured Imran alongside Sonam Kapoor in a romantic storyline.

The film follows Jay and Simran, two opposites in their views on love—Jay is a skeptic, while Simran is a hopeless romantic. Working together for a renowned director known for grand romantic films, their contrasting beliefs lead to unexpected twists in their journey.

Imran Khan, known for Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na and Delhi Belly (2011), is exploring projects for a potential acting comeback. Last seen in Katti Batti (2015) alongside Kangana Ranaut, he has been on a break from films since then, carefully selecting his next move.
