Ind vs Pak: Shoaib Malik expresses his sorrow over Pakistan's defeat with the Bollywood song 'Dil ke armaan'; video goes viral

The tone of Sunday evening was set right with the India vs Pakistan match, held in Dubai. India turned victorious in the cricket tournament and the social media was flooded with heartwarming messages wishing the team on their win. Virat Kohli also started trending in no time after India’s win, as he played a crucial role with his 51st ODI century in ensuring the triumph. Amid all the celebratory messages and posts, one more video is taking over the internet. This video features former Pakistani captain Shoaib Akhtar, expressing his sorrow for Pakistan’s defeat, but with a twist. To express his emotions he used a Bollywood song ‘Dil Ke Armaan,’ and the video went viral instantly.
The video is a BTS clip featuring Shoaib Malik from a TV studio. When Malik was asked about Pakistan’s defeat, he in a hilarious way started singing the Bollywood song ‘Dil Ke Armaan Aansuon Me Bah Gaye’.
This song is from a beloved Bollywood movie ‘Nikaah,’ released in 1982. Directed by B. R. Chopra, it was a romantic drama with Raj Babbar and Salma Agha in the lead. The leading actress also gave vocals to the song and even after decades of its release, the track is counted among the top heartbreak anthems.
Perhaps that is why Shoaib felt it was the apt song for expressing his heart’s sorrow over Pakistan’s defeat.
Further, the video shows the female presenter Zainab Abbas joining the bandwagon. Sitting in the same studio, she also started singing – ‘Ab to aadat si hai mujhko, aise jeene mein’.
While people are singing old Bollywood sad songs to share their grief, Bollywood is celebrating India’s victory with full enthusiasm. Javed Akhtar to Sunny Deol, everyone has taken to their social media handles to show their contentment. Several celebrities have given Virat Kohli a special mention in their post, praising his outstanding performance.
