The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has intensified its investigation into India’s Got Latent controversy, recording the statement of social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, on Tuesday (February 25).

According to ANI reports authorities have summoned over 30 individuals concerning the case.
Reportedly both Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia earlier had contacted Maharashtra Cyber Cell officials and said that they wanted to record their statements. Following this, on Monday (February 24), Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia voluntarily appeared before the cyber cell to provide their statements. Both of them arrived at the Maharashtra Cyber Cell Headquarters in Navi Mumbai to record their statements.

However, comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina, who hosted the show, is yet to be questioned.
For the unversed, the controversy erupted after an FIR was filed against Makhija, YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others for allegedly promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions on the publicly streamed YouTube show.
The backlash against India’s Got Latent escalated after a viral clip from the show featured Ranveer Allahbadia making an offensive remark. During the segment, he posed a controversial question to a contestant, sparking outrage on social media. Many users slammed Allahbadia for his inappropriate remarks, accusing the creators of normalizing obscene content.
Following the public outcry, Ranveer Allahbadia issued an apology via a video on his X account, admitting that his comments were inappropriate and lacked humor. Acknowledging his mistake, he stated, “Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry.” He further assured his followers that he would be more mindful of his influence on younger audiences moving forward. Meanwhile, the Keralites were upset over Jaspreet Singh’s ‘Kerala sir…’ comment and the comedian received several trolls online for the same.
