Days after India’s star cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma were officially divorced, and Dhanashree taking ₹4.75 crore alimony from Chahal, influencer Shubhankar Mishra slammed the dancer and said that people were right to call her a gold digger, reported News18.
Interestingly, the video of Shubhankar Mishra has gone viral and has also been liked by Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh.
In the video, Shubhankar said, “Dhanashree ke case main, Dhanashree ko apni doosri zindagi shuru karne main badi takleefo ka saamna karna pada. Chahal ke fans unhe troll karenge. Aise main, paisa rahega toh yeh empowerment deta hai. Taakat ka ehsas deta hai. Phir mere mann main sawal aata hai, ‘Toh phir yeh nahi kehna chahiye na ki I’m a self-made woman?“
He said, “Phir jo Chahal aapka mazaak udane ke liye T-shirt pehen raha hai jispe likha hai be your own sugar daddy ya voh log jo aapko gold-digger keh rahe hain, unn baaton se aapko bohot parhez nahi karna chahiye kyuki aap paise le rahe ho.”

Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s divorce:
On 20 March, Chahal and Dhanashree were granted divorce by the Bandra Family Court after the Bombay High Court directed the family court to expedite proceedings, citing Chahal’s commitments with Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
On the day of the divorce, Chahal’s advocate, Nitin Kumar Gupta, confirmed to ANI, “The court has granted the decree of divorce, and both parties are no longer husband and wife.”
Dhanashree drops music video?
On the same day the divorce was granted by the Bandra Family Court, Dhanashree dropped her latest music video Dekha Ji Dekha Maine. She made her first public appearance after her divorce.
On being asked her feelings post-divorce, Dhanashree remained composed but gave a cryptic response. She said, as India Today quoted, “Gaana suno pehle.“
Her latest music video co-stars Ishwak Singh as Dhanashree’s on-screen husband. The video shows a story of a of a woman trapped in a toxic relationship marred by betrayal.
