Kareena Kapoor Khan says she enjoys the lines on her face as talks to Gillian Anderson about cosmetic enhancements: 'I'm not old yet'

Cosmetic surgery is very common in the entertainment industry. Many actors do feel a lot of pressure to look perfect and stay young. Now, two divas from Bollywood and Hollywood, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Gillian Anderson recently came together for a compelling conversation.
Bebo recently engaged in a candid conversation with Hollywood actor Gillian Anderson for Dirty Magazine. The two actors delved into topics ranging from their roles in films to the portrayal of intimacy in their respective industries. A significant part of their discussion revolved around societal and industry pressures on actors to maintain their appearance, often through cosmetic procedures, to remain relevant.

Gillian Anderson reflected on the evolving opportunities for women in television, noting a marked improvement since her early days in the 1990s. She highlighted how women of diverse ages and body types are now leading TV shows. However, she pointed out that cinema still lags behind in this regard. “If you consider the number of women who have truly headlined films in Hollywood, the figure is still disappointingly small,” she remarked.

Anderson also addressed the double-edged sword faced by actors regarding physical appearance. She explained that while some choose to undergo cosmetic enhancements to fit industry standards or maintain a youthful look, they often face harsh judgement from tabloids. Simultaneously, those who decide against such procedures may find themselves excluded from certain opportunities. “It’s much kinder than it used to be, but the struggle remains,” she added.

Kareena offered her perspective on beauty and ageing, expressing a preference for embracing natural changes. “I think it’s a personal choice. I mean, I enjoy a few lines here and there on my face. I think it kind of looks sexy. Somehow, I feel happier in my 40s than I was in my 20s. I just want it to take its natural course. I’m not old yet, so I’m still rocking.”
Kapoor’s remarks reflect her broader philosophy towards life and career choices. Her unapologetic attitude towards her choices has made her one of Bollywood’s most admired personalities.
Both actors are busy with exciting projects. Kareena Kapoor was last seen in ‘Singham Again’, directed by Rohit Shetty and featuring an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, and Arjun Kapoor. The film was a commercial success despite competition from Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. Kapoor is now gearing up for Meghna Gulzar’s untitled project.
Meanwhile, Gillian Anderson is set to star in upcoming OTT series ‘The Abandons’, an American Western action drama set in the 1850s. Created by Kurt Sutter, the show explores conflicts among outlaw groups during the Old West era.
