Kubbra Sait, known for her role as Kukoo in Sacred Games, has also appeared in Jawaani Jaaneman and Foundation. An actress, host, and author, her memoir Open Book: Not Quite a Memoir shares her life experiences. In an interview, she opened up about her abortion journey.
In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Kubbra shared her experience of undergoing an abortion, admitting that she initially felt weak and unworthy rather than strong. She struggled with the decision but later realized that it was an act of self-empowerment. She broke societal norms and faced it alone, without informing anyone at the time.
Kubbra also recalled how the emotional impact of her abortion hit her unexpectedly during a conversation with a friend. Years later, while dealing with heavy bleeding on a shoot, she kept her struggles to herself, believing no one would understand. Eventually, she found strength in sharing her story, realizing it was for her own healing, not for others’ judgment.
Kubbra further reflected on how one doesn’t fully grasp the impact of such a decision at the moment. She acknowledged the uncertainty it brings but shared a positive update, mentioning that her health remains in great condition. Through her book, she aimed to present her story with balance—neither too heavy nor too light.
In the 2025 action-thriller Deva, Kubbra Sait plays Dipti Singh, a committed police officer. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film stars Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Pavail Gulati. Kubbra trained intensively for three months, mastering action sequences. Her powerful performance has been praised for its depth, leaving a strong impact.
