Lilo and Stitch trailer drops ahead of May release; fans IMPRESSED by live-action remake - WATCH

Disney’s highly anticipated live-action adaptation of ‘Lilo & Stitch’ is set to crash land cinemas on May 23, 2025. With still months to go before the film’s release, the makers on Wednesday, dropped the first official trailer sparking excitement among fans.
Originally developed as a Disney+ project, the film shifted to a theatrical release, and early reactions suggest it could be a standout in Disney’s growing list of live-action remakes.

The trailer opens with the commander declaring Stitch as an “apprehended a dangerous experiment”—immediately setting the stage for the chaos that follows. Newcomer Maia Kealoha takes on the role of Lilo, the spirited Hawaiian girl who befriends an alien engineered for destruction.
The 2.24 minute clip has it all, action, adventure, drama, destruction and charm of the original animated classic. ‘Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten,’ read the official post, taking the iconic catchphrase from the film.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the film reimagines the beloved 2002 animated classic, which was originally written and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois. The live-action cast features an impressive lineup, including Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Sydney Agudong, Kaipo Dudoit, Tia Carrere, Courtney B. Vance, Amy Hill, Jason Scott Lee, and Hannah Waddingham.
The original ‘Lilo & Stitch’ film has remained a fan-favourite for over two decades, spawning multiple sequels and a hit animated television series. The upcoming live-action is a series of reboots. This is one among the many reboots scheduled to be released in the months ahead. From Snow White to How To Train Your Dragon, there is a long list of live actions gearing up for their release this year.
