Priyanka Chopra, despite her global fame, comes from a humble background. In a recent interview, her mother, Madhu Chopra, shared that during Miss World, Priyanka was firm about her choices. She refused to wear a two-piece swimsuit in the pageant’s swimwear round, and the organizers respected her decision.
In conversation with Lehren Retro, Madhu praised Priyanka’s conduct and professionalism, recalling how she stood her ground during the Miss World pageant. When asked to wear a two-piece swimsuit for the competition, Priyanka declined while maintaining her dignity. Her firm yet respectful stance earned admiration from the organizers.
She further shared that Sushmita Sen greatly inspired Priyanka, while Lara Dutta played a key role in her Miss India journey. Lara taught Priyanka essential skills like draping, walking, and makeup application, as contestants had to manage everything themselves. Before that, Priyanka only applied kajal.
Madhu mentioned that Priyanka and Lara have remained friends over the years and reconnect whenever they are in the same city. Interestingly, both actresses made their Bollywood debut together in the 2003 film Andaaz, alongside Akshay Kumar.
On Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Priyanka shared that she and Dia Mirza used to call Lara “mom” because she always helped them with makeup. Lara later confirmed this, emphasizing that life is about making a positive impact on others, as achievements alone don’t define one’s existence.
