Reliance Industries board member and Mukesh Ambani’s daughter, Isha Ambani, and husband, Anand Piramal, were spotted at the Triveni Sangam taking a holy dip on the second last day of Maha Kumbh, according to a video shared by the news agency ANI.
Along with the industrialist couple, other prominent people like actress Raveena Tandon and her family were also spotted taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on Tuesday.
Other famous individuals like the former Indian team fast bowler Ishant Sharma, cricketer Suresh Raina, singer Kailash Kher, film producer Boney Kapoor, Mukesh Ambani and family, actor Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia were also among devotees to visit Mahakumbh.
International guests like Apple founder Steve Job’s widow Laurene Powell, Coldplay band’s lead singer Chris Martin and his girlfriend and Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson were also among the devotees to visit Prayagraj this year.
Maha Kumbh 2025 has become India’s biggest festival, where nearly 60 crore devotees have already taken a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. Mint reported earlier, citing a Uttar Pradesh government statement, that the number of people is expected to cross 65 crore by Wednesday as Maha Shivratri (February 26) will mark the end of the Maha Kumbh.
Maha Kumbh 2025 started on Janaury 12 and is set to be concluded on Wednesday, February 26, with the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.
High cost of Pilgrimage
Apart from the high net-worth individuals, celebrities and other popular faces, many Indians have visited this year’s Mahakumbh. Devotees who have visited Prayagraj come from many backgrounds and have faced one common problem, the high prices for flights, hotel stays and local transportation services, compared to regular levels.
Local Circles report showed that 87 per cent of passengers travelling by air paid nearly 50 to 300 per cent more than the regular airfare. 67 per cent of the devotees who decided to stay in area also paid higher prices due to the surge in demand and limited options.
