After a long wait Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan is all set to make his debut with Karan Johar backed film Nadaaniyan. The film directed by Shauna Gautam released the trailer of the film on Sunday afternoon.
The film follows the life Pia played by Khushi Kapoor , a South Delhi diva who wants to write her own love story, life changes when she meets Arjun played by Ibrahim , a middle-class overachiever who also has a plan for his future with his swimming and education. Things go awry when Pia ropes Arjun into a transactional arrangement of Rs 25000 per week to pose as her boyfriend to pull off the perfect romantic facade. But what happens things get real, forms the rest of the story.
Nadaaniyan also stars Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza and Jugal Hansraj in pivotal roles, adding warmth and depth to this layered romance.
While Ibrahim marks her debut with the film, this will be Khushi’s third film. Her first two films The Archies and Loveyapa failed to find a connection with the masses, so there will be pressure on both the young actors. Also Ibrahim is stepping into the industry with a role and a film that has been mastered by his Saif Ali Khan back in the 2000s with films like Salaam Namaste, Kal Ho Na Ho , so comparisons are bound to happen.
In December when it was announced that Ibrahim would be making his debut with Nadaaniyan on Netflix, his sister Sara Ali Khan was amongst the first ones to take to social media to welcome him to the industry. Taking to Instagram she wrote , “Welcome to the movies.” It was also an important moment for Ibrahim as it was also Saif’s first appearance since the fateful attack which took place in January.
