Parineeti Chopra says she used to cut 'rasgulla' on her birthday as her parents couldn't afford cake: 'We actually grew up with very less'

Parineeti Chopra may have achieved stardom now and may be living a luxurious life, but the actress has recently opened up on how she grew up amidst a lot of financial struggles. The actress was living in Ambala as a child and in a recent interview she revealed how simple life was as she and her brother grew up with very little. She also opened up on the financial struggles of her parents.
She said during a chat with Mashable Middle East that her parents gave her a very good mindset. “We actually grew up with very very less,” said Parineeti, further adding, “I have seen struggle of my parents where they used to not have money for a birthday cake for me and my dad used to go to the market and buy one piece of rasgulla, just a piece not a kilo, one piece of rasgulla or rasmalai and we used to cut that rasmalai like a birthday cake.”
However, Parineeti’s grandparents were extremely well to do. So, they would fly Parineeti and her brother there for summer vacations every year where they would live a luxurious life. “My grandparents, who used to live in Kenya, they were very affluent. So I used to go from Ambala, where we had almost nothing, and I used to go and live this luxurious life for 2 months every year because I used to go for my summer vacations. Because of that me and both my brothers, I feel we can adjust anywhere with anybody. We can make friends with anybody.โ€
On work front, Parineeti was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Chamkila’ with Diljit Dosanjh.
