Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal's 'Love and War' plot details hint at Ben Affleck's 'Pearl Harbor' link

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming epic, Love & War, is already generating buzz for its ‘epic’ love story set amidst a war backdrop. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, it is among the highly anticipated films of 2026. While much about the film has been kept under wraps, a new report reveals some plot details that will give fans a tease of all that is set to unfold on the big screen.
According to a report on Mid-Day, the film will follow two strong-willed army officers, played by Ranbir and Vicky, as they find themselves in a dramatic battle for love. Bhansali, who is known to bring some of the most timeless love stories to screens, will set this tale of love set against the backdrop of war. Buzz is that Ranbir and Vicky will play the roled of two strong-headed army men, with their characters in a “tug-of-war” for their love interest, played by Alia Bhatt.
The report further states that SLB, who began work on the film last year, has already shot some confrontation sequences between his leading men and is ‘mighty impressed with the output’.
The film that is being shot in Mumbai and is expected to hit theatres on March 20, 2026.
This update comes after reports suggested that the film may have elements of the Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale and Josh Harnett film ‘Pearl Harbor‘ and the Bollywood classic ‘Sangam’, both of which feature love triangles set against war. However, when asked about the resemblance, Vicky chose to remain tight-lipped. “I won’t comment on it, I would let our boss, our director Mr Sanjay Leela Bhansali, comment on that,” he said in a recent interview, with The Hollywood Reporter India, neither confirming nor denying the speculation.
