Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt became parents to a baby girl in November 2022. After their daughter Raha was born, the couple had requested the paps to not click her pictures till the time they feel right about it. It was during Christmas in 2023 that they finally revealed their daughter’s face to the world. However, now Alia and Ranbir have again urged the paps and the media to not use Raha’s photos. This decision comes after Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have told paps to not click Taimur and Jeh after the actor was attacked at his house.
During an informal meet and greet, Ranbir and Alia told the media, “Mein Mumbai mein pala bada hua hu. Hum industry mein born hue hai. All of you guys are family. Aose koi legal route lene ki humko jarurat nahi hai. Hum aap log ko bulaate hai aap se vinti karte hai aap log sunte ho. We all give words to each other aisa nahi ki hum ispe case kar denge, hum uspe case kar denge. (I have been born and bought up in Mumbai and all of you are like family. So, it’s not like we will take the legal route. We call all of you here and request you’ll as you’ll listen and respect our decision)”
He added, “Aap logo ko bula kar hum bas vinti kar rahe for the betterment of our child. It might sound like a privileged problem, I understand that. But we are trying as parents how much we can do to protect our child. Jitna kar sakte karenge. Aaj kya anybody with a camera phone can do anything and post it and spread like wildfire. Toh wo humare control mein nahi hai. Aap humare family jese ho toh aap humare control mein hai. Hum aap ko bol sakte hai vinti kar sakte hai kyunki you can help us achieve this. (Today anyone can take a phone and make things viral but we cannot help it. But you’ll are like our family hence we can make a request to all of you.”
Ranbir concluded by saying, “We don’t want to push any action against anyone. But if somebody is not listening to us repeatedly, we are left with no other option.”
Alia also opened up on the reason for this decision and revealed that she’s concerned about Raha’s safety. “My worst nightmare is someone breaking in and taking Raha away,” she said.
During this meet and greet, Alia also celebrated her birthday with the media.
