Remo D'Souza reveals he cast Abhishek Bachchan in 'Be Happy' because of Aaradhya Bachchan - Deets inside

Abhishek Bachchan recently starred in Remo D’Souza’s Be Happy, a film highlighting a father-daughter bond and his sacrifices for his child’s dreams. Remo revealed the touching reason behind casting Abhishek—it connects to his real-life relationship with his daughter, Aaradhya, making the role even more special.
In a conversation with Just Too Filmy, Remo revealed why Abhishek was his first choice for Be Happy. He explained that he wanted an actor who was a father, ideally with children of a similar age, to bring authenticity to the role and its emotional depth.

D’Souza felt that a father with a young daughter would naturally add authenticity to the role, making the emotions more genuine. He also wanted an unexpected choice—someone who could surprise audiences. Believing the right actor can elevate a film, he found Abhishek to be the perfect fit for Be Happy.

The director further acknowledged that casting decisions are often driven by box office appeal rather than artistic needs. However, he was grateful that Be Happy didn’t face such compromises. He also praised Abhishek Bachchan for accepting the role without hesitation, appreciating his dedication to the project.

Released on March 14, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video, Be Happy arrived just in time for Holi celebrations. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan as Shiv, a devoted single father, and Inayat Verma as his daughter Dhara, whose biggest dream is to compete in the country’s most prestigious dance reality show.
Despite having no dance experience, Shiv takes a bold step and enters the competition himself, determined to support his daughter’s dream.
The film also features Nora Fatehi, Nassar, Johnny Lever, and Harleen Sethi in key roles. Directed by Remo D’Souza and produced by Lizelle Remo D’Souza under the Remo D’Souza Entertainment banner, Be Happy brings an inspiring father-daughter story to life.
