Rhea Chakraborty recently made a lighthearted remark about her past jail time during an episode of ‘MTV Roadies XX.’ As part of a task, the gang leaders were locked in cages while their team members tried to free them. Rhea, who is also a gang leader, heard the instructions and laughed, saying she doesn’t want to go back to jail again.
Rhea’s reaction on going to jail during the task
When Rannvijay Singha announced that the gang leaders would be locked in cages for the task, Rhea jokingly said, “Mujhe nahi jaana phirse jail. I’m not going.” Her remark referred to her past jail time. Prince Narula then made a playful comment about Elvish Yadav’s legal troubles and added, “Elvish ke andar bhi yahi dua thi.”
Clean chit to Rhea in the SSR case
In 2020, the sudden passing of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput led to intense media coverage and multiple investigations. Rhea Chakraborty, who was in a relationship with Sushant, faced severe public scrutiny. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested her and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, in a drug-related case linked to Sushant’s death. Rhea spent nearly a month in jail before the Bombay High Court granted her bail in October 2020. However, it has been determined that there was no evidence of foul play in Sushant’s tragic death. Official investigations, including forensic and post-mortem reports, concluded that the actor died by suicide, describing the case as a “clear case of suicide.”
Support for Rhea
After the clean chit to Rhea, many celebrities came in support of her; actress Soni Razdan voiced her concerns, calling it “nothing but a modern-day witch hunt.” She questioned, “Where is the accountability? Who pays?” Dia Mirza also demanded responsibility from the media. She wrote on Instagram, “Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family?” She added, “You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harassment just for TRPs. Apologize. That’s the very least you can do.”
