Sadia Khateeb, who is gearing up for the release of ‘The Diplomat‘, recently addressed the necessity for women to stand up against domestic violence and sexual abuse. She asserted that remaining silent only enables perpetrators and urged women to seek help and demand justice.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sadia shared that she believes every woman is entitled to safety, dignity, and a life free from fear. She added that it is wrong if a woman does not stand up for herself, both in her on-screen roles and in real life. She further stated that no one else will stand up for a woman during tough times.
Sadia hopes to empower women to recognise their inner strength, break their silence, and refuse to accept mistreatment. The actress expressed empathy towards those who have faced domestic violence but emphasised that, as women, their core should be built on courage.
“Hum chaye kisi bhi field mei rahe agar hum kamzoor rahe hume koi nahi support karega, hume apne liye stand lena hai vaise aurtein hai na gharo mei jo domestic violence se joojh rahi hai mai unse kahungi ki khud ki tum madat nahi karoge toh khuda tumhari madat nahi karega. Recognize the fact that you are a victim recognize the fact that what’s going on is wrong. Hum pyaar mei hote hai hume samjah nahi aata hai. We have to know that nahi, pyaar mein ho, nafrat mein ho, haath nahi laga sakta, pyaar mein ho, rafrat mein ho, shadi mein ho, bina shadi ke ho, chhu nahi sakta hai bina ijazat ke, ” she emphasised.
Sadia also spoke about the importance of women knowing their rights and advocated for an education system that teaches them about their legal protections.
‘The Diplomat’ features John Abraham as the protagonist. It will hit theatres on March 14.
