This Eid is set to witness the release of two major films, creating a buzz among cinema enthusiasts. Mohanlal’s much-awaited ‘L2: Empuraan‘, helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is slated to hit theatres on March 27, while Salman Khan’s action-packed Sikandar will arrive on March 30. Prithviraj had earlier addressed the box office clash with a quirky reply, while Salman has now shared his thoughts on the same in a recent media interaction.
In a conversation with the media, Salman Khan addressed the back-to-back releases and praised Prithviraj’s film. “I love Mohanlal sir as an actor. Prithviraj is directing it, and I know that it’s going to be an excellent film,” he said.
Apart from ‘L2: Empuraan’, Salman also extended his best wishes to Sunny Deol’s Jaat, which will be released on April 10. “There’s Jaat also coming post Sikandar. I wish all of them do well,” he added.
In the same interaction, the ‘Tiger 3’ actor spoke about his long-standing friendship with South Indian stars like Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh Daggubati, as well as how he remembered Ram Charan and Jr NTR from their early days. “That’s really sweet of them. I’ve known Charan and Tarak. They grew up in front of me. Most of them started doing films a year or two after I began my journey as an actor. I know Venky really well. We’ve worked together and have been friends for 30-35 years now. I know Chiru garu because I did a Thums Up commercial with him,” he stated.
The ‘Sultan’ actor also spoke about his bond with South Indian directors: “I’ve worked with a lot of South actors. In fact, I was the first Hindi film actor from my generation to start working with South directors. I’ve worked with four or five South directors at one point in time,” he concluded.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar features Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal in key roles.
