Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan sent fans into a frenzy as he arrived in Kolkata on Friday evening ahead of the much-anticipated opening IPL match at the Eden Gardens. The actor, who will be cheering for his team as they take to the field for the season’s inaugural match on Saturday.
Dressed in a white T-shirt paired with denims, and a waistcoat, Shah Rukh made his way through the Kolkata airport, flanked by a team of bodyguards and armed security. The actor didn’t miss a chance to engage with his fans. Videos circulating on social media show him waving, blowing kisses, and giving a thumbs up to the ecstatic crowd, who could be heard screaming, “Love you, King Saab!”
The energy only intensified when Shah Rukh arrived at Eden Gardens, where he greeted his team members with warm hugs and kisses.
With SRK cheering in the stands, it remains to be seen if his team will win the match and move on to the next round. Shah Rukh famously said he was his team’s ‘lucky charm’. He noted that when he attends the matches, he team often wins. However, if you ask Ananya Panday, SRK credited Suhana, Shanaya and her for being his ‘lucky charms’.”
Speaking on Neha Dhupia’s podcast, she recalled, “Shah Rukh sir is a very inclusive person. Like there was this year when KKR, they won their first IPL and he was like ‘it is because of you three, you are my lucky charm, you will always be with me’. So he always makes us feel special..”
On the work front, the superstar is currently working on his film ‘King’ which will see him in an action-packed role opposite daughter Suhana Khan. The film will also star Abhishek Bachchan in a supporting role.
