‘The Diplomat’ Box Office Collection Day 9: John Abraham starrer witnesses growth on its 2nd Saturday; BEATS Gal Gadot’s ‘Snow White’

Based on true events that narrate the story of an Indian girl’s rescue from Pakistan with the help of an honest and dedicated government official, ‘The Diplomat’ has entered its second week. After the debut weekend, the movie saw a sharp dip in the business and even started weak in week 2, but things started looking better on the second weekend. According to the Sacnilk report’s early estimates, the film collected Rs. 2.35 crore on its second Saturday, taking the net domestic collection of the thriller drama to Rs. 22.75 crores.
Directed by Shivam Nair, the movie opened with decent numbers at the box office and maintained a steady pace in the first three days. However, as aforementioned, it suffered a loss on the following weekdays. The competition with ‘Chhaava’ posed another challenge, as though the Vicky Kaushal starrer has finished more than a month at the box office, it is not ready to back down.
Compared to the first week, and second Friday’s collection, Saturday saw a rise. On day 8, which was the second Friday, the film collected Rs. 1.25 crore, whereas on Saturday, the movie made around Rs. 2.35 crore. Now, one will have to wait to see whether the film will be able to maintain this growth on Sunday as well or not.

‘The Diplomat’ net collection in India

    Day 1 [1st Friday]: ₹ 4 Cr
    Day 2 [1st Saturday]: ₹ 4.65 Cr
    Day 3 [1st Sunday]: ₹ 4.65 Cr
    Day 4 [1st Monday]: ₹ 1.5 Cr
    Day 5 [1st Tuesday]: ₹ 1.45 Cr
    Day 6 [1st Wednesday]: ₹ 1.5 Cr
    Day 7 [1st Thursday]: ₹ 1.4 Cr
    Week 1 Collection ₹ 19.15 Cr
    Day 8 [2nd Friday]: ₹ 1.25 Cr
    Day 9 [2nd Saturday]: ₹ 2.35 Cr (early estimates)
    Total: ₹ 22.75 Cr

    ‘The Diplomat’ vs ‘Snow White’

This Friday the Indian box office also welcomed the much-awaited Hollywood drama ‘The Snow White.’ Featuring Gal Gadot, the fantasy drama could impress the Indian audience, as the movie only collected Rs.65 lakh on day 1, and Rs. 1.06 crore on day 2. With these numbers, it is clear that after ‘Chhaava,’ ‘The Diplomat’ has become the second-best choice for the cinegoers.
