Singer Udit Narayan recently attended the Maha Kumbh Mela with his wife Deepa, expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity to participate in such an auspicious event. The singer also thanked the Government for their efforts in organising the event.
Talking to ANI, the singer said, “I am very happy that God has given me the opportunity to come to the Kumbh Mela on this auspicious occasion. Such a coincidence has happened after 144 years. It is a matter of great happiness. I thank the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh.”
Several Bollywood celebrities have attended the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, drawn by its spiritual significance. Notable attendees include Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Raveena Tandon, Preity Zinta, Anupam Kher, Remo D’Souza, Guru Randhawa, and Shankar Mahadevan. These celebrities have participated in holy dips and expressed gratitude. Other attendees include Tamannaah Bhatia, Rajkummar Rao, and Patralekhaa. The Mela, held every 12 years, is a major spiritual gathering attracting millions.
Udit Narayan began his career in the 1980s, initially singing for Nepali films before making his Bollywood debut in 1980 with the film ‘Unees-Bees’. His breakthrough came in 1988 with the film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, where his song ‘Papa Kehte Hain’. Narayan has sung numerous songs in 36 languages and has won numerous awards.
