Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have reportedly parted ways after nearly four years of marriage. The couple, who met during the COVID-19 lockdown, tied the knot on December 22, 2020. Their divorce was finalized at Mumbai’s Bandra Court. Chahal had proposed to Dhanashree after two months of dance training.
According to a News18 report, Yuzvendra and Dhanashree met during the lockdown when he enrolled in her dance classes. With cricket matches halted, Chahal, inspired by her social media videos, decided to learn dance. After two months of training, he surprised her by proposing marriage, catching her completely off guard.
Dhanashree revealed that after two months of training, Yuzi had become an excellent dancer. She was initially shocked by his proposal and immediately informed her mother, who humorously remarked about her student being gone. The couple had a traditional Hindu wedding in Gurugram in December 2020, with Yuzi sharing now-deleted wedding pictures celebrating their journey together.
For their engagement, Dhanashree dazzled in a pink Tarun Tahiliani lehenga, while Yuzi complemented her in a blue kurta with a pink embroidered jacket. Their haldi ceremony was a joyous affair, with the couple twinning in yellow—Dhanashree in a yellow lehenga and Yuzi in a golden kurta paired with white pyjama.
Dhanashree and Yuzi’s wedding was nothing short of a fairy tale. She looked stunning in a red Tarun Tahiliani lehenga, while Yuzi donned an embroidered sherwani. The venue was beautifully adorned with red, ivory, and crystal accents. However, reports suggest they had been living apart for 18 months, and their divorce was recently finalized at Bandra Family Court, according to ABP News. Before the proceedings, both shared cryptic posts about God. An official confirmation from the duo is still awaited.
