Shah Rukh Khan is set to turn 60 this year, but the man hardly looks his age. In fact, people who have recently met him as he prepares for his next film King with his daughter Suhana Khan share that the superstar is in the best shape of his life. He is known for pushing his body to the limit—whether it was getting abs for Om Shanti Om or shooting one of the most difficult chase sequences for Fan.
Not many are aware that while shooting Fan in Dubrovnik, SRK broke his patella on the very first day of the shoot. The film’s director, Maneesh Sharma, initially thought SRK had just pulled his hamstring, only to later realize that his left knee was completely injured. But the actor didn’t give up—he took a break for an hour, got some injections, and then continued running. From that point on, he relied on extensive medical support and daily injections to get through the demanding shoot.
The director and his team were deeply concerned when they understood the severity of SRK’s injury. However, all King Khan asked of the stunt team was their help in stretching his body before every shot. This made the team realize just how passionate he was about his work—he was putting everything into his movies, from his heart to his body. The stunt team was also stunned by SRK’s performance during the action sequences. While the cameras rolled, he would perform flawlessly, but the moment they stopped, he would start limping.
An action director once stated that SRK could be a great action star. Who knew that his words in 2016 would come true in 2023, when Shah Rukh Khan delivered two mega action blockbusters—Pathaan and Jawan?
