Yash shoots for 'Ramayana' in Mumbai sans Ranbir Kapoor: Reports

Actor Yash has reportedly started shooting for his mythological epic ‘Ramayana’ in Mumbai.
The actor, who will be playing the role of Ravana in the film, has reportedly headed to the film sets to commence his schedule. Social media is abuzz with claims that the actor will begin shooting a war sequence, however, this segment will not feature Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Ram.
According to reports, the war portions are being designed on an epic scale, showcasing Ravana’s strategic brilliance. The action choreography aims to highlight the tactical prowess of Yash’s character, with a combination of green screen and on-ground sequences enhanced with heavy VFX.
Filmmakers are reportedly sparing no expense in creating a visually stunning battlefield, ensuring the sequences align with the grandeur of Indian mythology.
While the war portions are currently being filmed, reports state that Ranbir’s character of Lord Ram is not included in this schedule.
Ramayana has been one of the most awaited Indian films, with a stellar cast that includes Sai Pallavi as Sita. Lara Dutta will play the role of Kaikeyi, while Sunny Deol will take on the role of Hanuman and Sheeba Chaddha will be seen as Manthara.
Ranbir and Sai wrapped up their portions of the shoot late 2024, before the actor moved on to his next film project – Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’, which will see him starring alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
‘Ramayana’ will be released in two parts. While Part One will hit the theatres in 2026, Part Two of the film will be released in 2027.
