Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama ‘Chhaava’ has completed a 33-day run at the box office, and yet it earning more than the latest Bollywood release ‘The Diplomat.’ The former is in its fifth week, while it is the first week for the latter; yet the Vicky Kaushal starrer outshined John Abraham’s film on Tuesday.
According to Sacnilk, the collection of the historical drama featuring the Maratha valor was Rs. 2.50 crore on Tuesday, while the political thriller based on true events made Rs. 1.40 crore the very day. With these numbers, the India net collection of ‘Chaava’ stands at Rs. 567.80 cores. If the film maintains the same momentum, it will not be soon before it reaches the Rs.570 crore mark, and by the end of its fifth week, there are chances that it might cross the said number and create a new milestone.
Though as per the usual trend, the numbers have seen a sharp drop on the week days as compared to the weekend collection. For three days in a row, the fifth Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the movie saw impressive numbers, but with Monday there was a more than 60 percent dip, and Tuesday’s early estimates show a further slight drop.
