Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has strongly reacted to the tragic Vadodara car accident, where a speeding car rammed into five pedestrians, killing a woman and seriously injuring four others. The incident, which occurred late Thursday night in the Karelibaug area, has sparked nationwide outrage over reckless driving and road safety.
The accused, Rakshit Chaurasiya (20), was reportedly driving at 120 km/hour when he lost control and hit the victims. Shocking eyewitness accounts reveal that after stepping out of the wrecked vehicle, Chaurasiya screamed ‘another round’ multiple times, appearing indifferent to the gravity of the accident.
Reacting to the horrifying incident, Janhvi Kapoor took to social media to express her anger. She wrote, “This is appalling and enraging. Sick to my stomach about anyone thinking this kind of behavior is something they can get away with. Intoxicated or not.”
Her statement comes amid rising concerns over road accidents in India, where reckless driving and negligence continue to claim lives.
Speaking to the media on March 15, Chaurasiya denied being drunk and blamed the crash on a pothole and an emergency airbag blocking his view.
“There is a pothole near the intersection, and I tried to pass through. My car touched the scooter in front, and at that moment, the airbag burst open, completely blocking my view, leading to the collision,” he claimed.
The police arrested Chaurasiya within hours of the crash, and he has undergone a medical examination to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol. However, the test results have not yet been made public.
