Soon-to-be father Sidharth Malhotra shares parents' role in shaping kids' future: 'Get your boys in check while they’re growing up'

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s recent announcement about expecting their first child has taken the internet by storm. Fans and celebrities alike have flooded social media with joyous messages for the couple. Sidharth has now opened up about his thoughts on parenting and shared his views on the important role a father plays in raising a boy.
In a candid conversation with content creator and rapper Lilly Singh, Sidharth discussed his perspective on raising children in the modern era. When asked about the significance of a father’s role in raising sons, the Shershaah actor shared, “It’s definitely something that parents can be conscious of—what they are really feeding their kids in terms of culture, in terms of being examples. The best way, in my book—though it’s a very difficult way, as we’ve all spoken about—is to definitely get your boys in check while they’re growing up.”
“I was reading recently, and it says, you know, being male is by birth, but being a man is by choice,” the soon-to-be father stated.
When further asked what it meant to be a man, he said, “I think exactly this—that you start taking responsibility for your own actions.”
He emphasised the importance of individuals taking responsibility for their words and actions, particularly in how they interact with family members and partners. This, he believes, is a vital lesson he wants to pass on to his children. He underscored the significance of the cultural environment parents provide and the examples they set, ensuring that children understand the value of relationships and social responsibility.
