Veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, father of filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, passed away at 83 due to age-related health issues. A key member of the Samarth-Mukherjee family and uncle to Kajol and Rani Mukerji, his funeral at Pawan Hans Crematorium saw attendees like Kajol, Jaya Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, and Ranbir Kapoor.
Kiara Advani also recently visited Ayan Mukerji’s home to offer her condolences. A video doing the rounds on social media showed her arriving in a white outfit and quietly paying her respects.
Meanwhile, Kajol took to Instagram to express her sorrow, sharing an emotional note: “Grief is the price we pay for having loved deeply. It never goes away; we just learn to live with it.” She also posted a throwback picture with Deb Mukherjee from a past Durga Puja celebration, reminiscing about their cherished moments together. “Tradition said that every Durga Puja we would click pictures together… I’m still adjusting to the thought of a world without him. To one of the finest men I’ve ever known. Rest in peace. You will be loved, remembered, and missed every day of my life,” she wrote.
Deb Mukherjee had a significant Bollywood career, starring in films like Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Abhinetri, Do Aankhen, and Baaton Baaton Mein.
Meanwhile, Kiara is in the news amid speculation that she may no longer be part of Don 3 with Ranveer Singh. Reports suggest she was in talks but chose to focus on her personal life after news of her pregnancy. However, there’s no official confirmation yet, and the makers are reportedly searching for a new female lead.
On the work front, Kiara was last seen in Game Changer with Ram Charan and will next star in War 2. Meanwhile, her husband, Sidharth Malhotra, is preparing for Param Sundari alongside Janhvi Kapoor.
